Get Rid of Flyaways Once and For All
Ugh, flyaways. When it comes to your hair, little else is more annoying – especially when they are the only thing standing between you and a sleek, polished look. If you’re as fed up with these pesky little buggers as we are, read our tips below. Let’s get rid of them once and for all!
One of the worst things you can do to your hair is to over-heat it with hot tools or exposure to UV rays. This causes frizz and – you guessed it – flyaways. To save yourself loads of trouble, use heat as little as possible, and always apply heat protectant like PRAVANA's Nevo Invisible Control Heat-Activated Thermal Protectant. Of course, you should steer clear of towel-drying your hair if you want to avoid the same fate; gently squeeze with a soft t-shirt instead.
Just Add Water
Though not the most effective method, if you’re in a hurry and need to quickly calm some wild strands, wet your hands and smooth the pieces down. Just don’t go overboard or it will look more like you popped out of the shower and left your hair to fend for itself!
Pick the Right Products
Different hair types have different needs, and by shopping with this in mind, you can ensure that your hair will get just what it needs to combat frizz and flyaways. Those with fine hair should try an anti-frizz crème like PRAVANA's Nevo Model Behavior Shaping Cream, whereas those with a rougher texture should opt for a hydrating oil or balm. PRAVANA's Nevo Hydra Pearls 45 Capsules works great for the latter as it is extremely lightweight and loaded with important vitamins for your locks.
Start With a Serum
For visibly soft, smooth hair with just the right amount of shine, use a serum. Run a small amount through your hair when it’s damp to help reduce tangling and to get rid of flyaways. We love Pureology's Smooth Perfection Smoothing Serum which also acts as a heat protectant.
Show Yourself Some Love
While choosing the right products is very important, the best thing you can do for your hair is to simply take care of yourself. Make sure that you’re drinking lots of water and don’t skip out on your veggies. The healthier you are, the better you and your hair will look (and the better you will feel)!
