9 Lazy Girl Eye Makeup Tricks for the Holidays
The holidays are here and between gift-shopping and mentally preparing for one-on-one time with your parents, you’ve got a lot on your plate. Luckily, even if you have just a few minutes to spare before your next holiday party, you can still show up looking gorgeous and festive! Read on to learn nine simple eye makeup hacks for the holidays.
1. Get creative.
You don’t need a lot of diversity in your eye products to create a well-defined look. In fact, with the right tools, you can use the same powder as brow powder, eye shadow, and eyeliner. For your brows, use an angled brush and small strokes. For your eyelids, take a soft eye shadow brush and work the powder into your crease as well as the corners of your eye. Finally, just wet a liner brush and trace the powder over your lash lines. Simple!
2. Throw some glitter onto your eyeliner.
Take a silver or gold glitter liner and trace it over your regular eyeliner. It takes seconds, but it will instantly give you a more festive and striking look!
3. Cat eyes.
The secret to perfect cat eyes with minimal effort is to use a straight edge. It can be anything – the edge of a piece of paper, tape, or even an old business card. All you have to do is line up the edge with the angle of your lower lash line and swipe your eyeliner over the top of it.
4. Smoky eye.
You don’t need more than a shimmer shadow to give yourself a gorgeous smoky eye effect. Just close one eye and use a brush (like Beauty Addicts’ Pro Eye Blender Brush) to run the product over both of your lash lines. Then, with your eye open, use the brush to blend it in. Repeat on the other eye.
5. Go messy with your mascara.
This is another easy way to create a smoky effect. Just whip on some mascara, allowing it to smudge a little bit onto your skin, then blend it in with one finger.
6. Draw your liner in between your lashes.
Take your favorite eyeliner (we like Beauty Addicts’ Effortless Eyes Eyeliner) and, instead of drawing it over the top of your lash line, go below it and draw in between your lashes. This technique will instantly give your lashes a fuller appearance in no time.
7. Give yourself a terra-cotta look.
Apply some bronzer to your cheekbones, then use the same powder on your eyelids. This is an easy way to add definition to your features while giving you a warmer, cheerier glow.
8. Apply blush to your cheeks, brow bones, and eyelids.
This simple trick will help your eyes appear bigger and make you look less tired. (If the “Holiday” section on Netflix has been keeping you up late, check out this article for more tips on how you can look more awake).
9. Highlight your cheekbones and eyelids with an illuminator.
Shimmery powder is another great way to highlight your features. The bright snow-like color is all you need to create a gorgeous and festive glow.
That’s all there is to it! If you can think of anyone else who might benefit from this article, please share it. Happy Holidays!
