Pins can provide so much more control over your hair, giving it a tidier and more tailored look. To get the most out of them, you need to know these tips...
- Use bobby pins with the wavy side down.
It makes sense when you think about it: the wavy part of a bobby pin will grab your strands easier than the straight part, with the straight part holding everything in place. A lot of people tend to get this wrong, however. Good thing you’ll know better!
- Spray your bobby pins.
Unfortunately, bobby pins aren’t the most reliable tool. Aside from being difficult to keep track of, they can slide out easily. That’s why it’s always a good idea to spray your pins with a little hairspray or dry shampoo before styling try Kenra's Fast-Dry Hairspray. This will give them a better grip so they won’t fall out.
- For an easier bun, use spin pins.
If you want a better bun that lasts longer than a few hours, don’t stuff your hair with bobby pins -- use spin pins. Even with really thick hair, you don’t need more than two to keep your bun in place. They’re easier to keep track of, too!
