We all think we know how to wash our hair, but chances are, you’re doing a couple of things wrong. Check yourself by reading our tips below.
- Brush your hair before washing.
We lose a lot of hair when we step in the shower, so pre-brushing is a great way to prevent clogging. Even better is that it will reduce tangles when you wash. Your hair is weakest when it is wet, so the less you brush it during this time, the better. Less tangles means less of a need for brushing, so there will be less of a chance for damage when you style your hair!
- Massage your scalp.
If you’re trying to grow out your hair, massaging your scalp on a regular basis will be a great help as it stimulates growth and strengthens your roots. Plus, it feels amazing!
- Concentrate on the ends.
Few people need as much moisture as they put on their scalp. If you have normal or oily hair, you should focus your conditioner on the ends of your hair instead of the roots (try Kenra's Moisturizing Conditioner). This is especially important if you go days between washing.
- Dry before styling.
Using hot tools on damp hair can seriously damage your strands in the long-run. That’s why you should always make sure your hair is dry before styling. Better yet, use a heat protectant on your hair as well. We love PRAVANA’s Nevo Invisible Control Heat-Activated Thermal Protectant.
