We all have days when getting out of bed seems an impossible challenge, let alone dragging yourself in and out of the shower fast enough to get to work on time. Of course, that doesn’t mean you have to show up looking like a grease tornado! Read on to learn six ways you can look and feel as fresh as if you had just taken a shower.
1. Oily Hair? Use Dry Shampoo
Though it isn’t a secret, dry shampoo is all you need to remedy oily roots so that your ‘do looks fresh and gorgeous. We like Fresh Approach Dry Shampoo by Pureology.
Don’t have any product on you? Try baby powder instead. Though not quite as useful in helping you to style your hair, the powder will soak up excess oils so that you don't look dirty.
2. When Oily Hair Can't Be Helped By Dry Shampoo
Lean over your tub or bathroom sink and give yourself a mini-shower by shampooing and conditioning just your scalp (or bangs as the case may be). Then, quickly blow-dry your hair. Simple!
1. Use Makeup Remover Instead Of Washing Your Face
Fell asleep with a full face of makeup? There's a simple solution: makeup remover! Of course, this isn’t something you want to do without washing your face too frequently. Makeup, when not completely removed, can get clogged in your pores and lead to all kinds of problems for your skin (including inflammation and zits). However, as a temporary fix, the best you can do is use a makeup remover like Soothing Eye Make-up Remover by Dermalogica or makeup removal wipes.
2. Use Wipes
It’s not a perfect fix, nor one you should use often. However, on those days when you don’t have even five minutes to wash yourself off, this is your best solution. There even exist some wipes for your downstairs area if needed. Just make sure it’s unscented and that you wipe only from front to back to keep from spreading bacteria where it doesn’t belong.
3. Hairy Legs? Try Dry-Shaving Them
You can save a little bit of time when shaving by skipping the water, although you have to be careful if you have sensitive skin. Use lotion instead: try AG Hair Cosmetics' Shaving Lotion (bonus: it doubles as conditioner!) You can also simply splash some bottled water onto your legs and gently shave them, cutting out the cream. Again, do this with caution if your skin is particularly prone to irritation.
6. Exfoliate flaky skin with a dry brush.
If you smell okay but your skin is flaking and you don’t have time to exfoliate, hop in the shower and take a dry brush to just the rough patches. Massage them gently in a circular motion. This will easily rid your body of dead skin cells. It can also help to use a moisturizing wand like Exfoliating Face Brush by Dermalogica which helps soothe and stimulate dry skin.
That’s all there is to it! If you know anyone who could use these tips, please share them.
